Children’s Classes

At Pathways, our goal is to love each child and family with the love of Jesus while guiding families in a Biblical foundation that embraces diversity and cultural relevance. We believe that parents are primarily responsible for the spiritual training of their children. Coming alongside parents, as a community of believers, we strive to help prepare hearts, hands and feet to follow Jesus in the world and into eternity.

Pathways currently has three areas of kid’s ministry, collectively called Pathfinders, individually we are:

  • Baby Steps: Our nursery has two areas. One, where parents can come to rock, feed and change their infants when necessary. The second area is for infants through 23 months, where parents can feel free to leave their child during the service. Baby Steps is not only an area for babies to be cared for, but also learn in simple ways that God loves them.
  • Scouts: Our preschool area includes children from 2 years old through kindergarten. Kids in this class are continuing to learn that God loves them as they explore stories, crafts, playtime and a snack.
  • Hikers: Our Elementary area includes kids from first through fifth grades. Our hikers are learning more to understand what it means that God loves them, and how to apply that to their lives as they walk the path that Jesus has for them.

We also feel that it is important for families to have time to worship together. This happens in two ways at Pathways. We have periodical family services, where our Baby Steps, Scouts and Hikers stay in the service with their family for the whole service. On a Sunday that is not a family service, Scouts and Hikers stay in the service for the first 10-15 minutes with their family. From there, they are dismissed   to our children’s opening where we sing, pray, and share a short message together. The kids then go to their individual classes with their teachers and assistants.

We take precaution for the safety your children.  Everyone who works with children at Pathways goes through an application process and a background check.
